Dorchester 24 Hour has a strong regional presence, providing out-of-hours care for fiveu00a0Medivetu00a0branches and seven non-Medivetu00a0practicesu00a0which gives scope for a wide range of clinical cases. You will be working within a highly skilled and supportive team, which includes certificate holders inu00a0cardiology,u00a0diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, dermatology, and emergency and critical care,u00a0as well asu00a0those who are currently studying towardsu00a0dentalu00a0qualifications. This creates an excellent environment for professional development, collaboration, and learning, and providingu00a0all round care for our patients, from first opinion work to more advanced and challenging cases.u00a0

Our hospital is fully equipped to deliver exceptional patient care, with facilities including:u00a0

  • CT scanner (supporting internal and outpatient referrals)u00a0

This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinary surgeon withu00a0a strong surgical interest, preferably a certificate holder, tou00a0helpu00a0develop a caseloadu00a0inu00a0bothu00a0orthopaedics and soft tissue surgery. Although this role has a surgicalu00a0biasu00a0weu00a0remainu00a0committed to providing excellent first opinion client care and therefore the role will also involve routine consultations and inpatient care.u00a0u00a0u00a0

Weu00a0are looking foru00a0a minimum of 4 years proven UK experience to thrive inu00a0thisu00a0busy, forward-thinking hospital environment while enjoying the lifestyle benefits of the Dorset coast.u00a0As primarily a first opinionu00a0practiceu00a0the successfulu00a0candidateu00a0must alsou00a0be keenu00a0to provide excellentu00a0client care bothu00a0in the consult room and in managing medical and surgical cases, but withu00a0a strong teamu00a0to lean on canu00a0feel supported with more complex and challenging cases.u00a0

This role is full-time, workingu00a0anu00a0averageu00a0ofu00a039 hours per week with 1 in 6 weekendsu00a0included within this rota. We believe in fairness across theu00a0team,u00a0so weekends are a core feature of this role, but would consider a part-time role for the right candidate.

Salary starts from £60k commensurate with experience and further qualifications.
