Permanent, part time – 15 hours per week
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly-motivated Speech & Language Therapist to join the TRFT Adult Speech & Language Therapy Service. This is a fantastic and rare opportunity for a Speech & Language Therapist to gain experience working within an integrated service across a variety of clinical settings and locations including inpatient ward work at Rotherham Hospital; community work in patients and care homes across Rotherham.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing communication and swallowing assessment and therapy to patients with a variety of clinical conditions and in a range of locations in Rotherham. Dysphagia experience will be an advantage. Supervision and support will be provided.
The role will involve ward work, outpatient and community based working across the Rotherham area.
The successful candidate will have and be able to demonstrate:
- A speech and language therapy qualification and HCPC registered. This post is suitable for newly qualified speech and language therapists.
- Flexible approach is essential and a willingness to support the service where needed.
- A commitment to developing dysphagia competencies to Specialist Dysphagia Practitioner level if not already acquired
- Excellent team working skills, communication and organisational skills.
- Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently between TRFT sites and for patient visits in the Rotherham area and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010
