As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, supervising staff, and ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to develop their culinary skills while leading a team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and food presentation.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring that all team members are trained in food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, including inventory management and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and health codes.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service during busy periods.
  • Monitor food quality and portion control to maintain consistency across all dishes.
  • Provide leadership and support to kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Cook or Sous Chef in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation.
  • Excellent culinary skills with a passion for creating high-quality dishes.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Experience in supervising kitchen operations and managing inventory is desirable.
  • A culinary qualification or relevant training is preferred but not essential.
