Our client is a well-established, independently owned small animal practice with a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality, personalised veterinary care. The practice has been serving its local pet community for over 25 years and is proud of its loyal client base and varied caseload.

We are now seeking an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly and supportive team from late August 2026 (with flexibility for an earlier start date if required).

About the Practice

The practice is modern, well-equipped, and able to offer a diverse and interesting caseload. Facilities include:

Digital radiography

High-quality ultrasound

Full IDEXX laboratory suite

Advanced anaesthetic and blood pressure monitoring

Excellent surgical and consulting facilities

The team also benefits from the expertise of a Small Animal Surgery certificate holder, alongside visiting specialists in orthopaedics and ophthalmology, as well as an Advanced Practitioner in dermatology.

You will be joining a welcoming and collaborative team consisting of:

2 Veterinary Surgeons

2 Registered Veterinary Nurses

2 Veterinary Care Assistants

2 Receptionists

The Role

This position would suit a Veterinary Surgeon with strong communication and relationship-building skills who enjoys working as part of a close-knit team.

Applicants should have:

A minimum of 3 years’ UK small animal general practice experience

Confidence performing routine soft tissue surgery

A strong commitment to patient and client care

The practice actively encourages clinical freedom and supports vets in developing their own clinical interests.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality veterinary care to small animal patients

Carry out consultations, diagnostic workups, and routine surgery

Work collaboratively with the clinical and support teams

Maintain accurate clinical records

Provide excellent client communication and continuity of care

Working Pattern

Full-time: 4 days per week

1 in 2 Saturday mornings

Minimal sole charge

No out-of-hours or on-call

No Bank Holiday work

Flexible rota available
