Due to maternity leave, the Acute Medical Unit are seeking a seconded Band 6 Sister/Charge nurse to join our hard-working team. We are seeking a passionate registered nurse that can role model our professional values and manage a fast-paced 48-52 bedded admissions unit. The individual must have strong communication skills and be eager to advocate for safe, efficient and person-centred care. Within this role there will be training and development opportunities, with an expectation of continued professional development.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will maintain an excellent standard of clinical work and provide quality nursing care. They will lead a large team of nursing staff and work closely with the Lead Nurses, Site Matrons and other departments to co-ordinate safe, effective patient flow throughout the Trust. As a Sister/Charge Nurse on the Acute Medical Unit, you will also recognise and escalate the care of deteriorating patients and provide clinical leadership to our developing Registered Nurses.
