The Clatterbridge Cancer is the largest networked cancer centre serving a population of 2.4 million across Merseyside and Cheshire. The Trust has embedded research as part of a key aspect of patient choice. The Research and Innovation Team have established key work areas to set-up and deliver research studies for all patients. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join a dynamic team with research for patient at the heart of what we do. The post-holder will be responsible for working in an agile way across The Christie, Clatterbridge Cancer Centre and Preston to provide education and drive forward recruitment into research for Teenage and Young Adult (TYA) Cancer Research. The post-holder will work to increase recruitment of high quality biological samples for the national biobank and increase research awareness.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will work in an agile manner across Teenage and Young Adult (TYA) Cancer Specialised Services Clinical Network (SSCN) partners on all aspects of TYA sample collection to support research. They will administer and manage all aspects of TYA sample collection to provide an efficient and effective sample service: collection, processing, storage/ shipping service keeping meticulous records and a full audit trail. To use the Laboratory Information Management System for sample management. To work flexibly and ensure adherence to legal and local procedural requirements.

To work across the SSCN centres to provide education, support and training. To assure compliance with Health and Safety and Standard Operating Procedures, legislation and clinical trials/ Biobanking requirements.
