We are looking for a Senior Accredited Clinical Coder to join our award winning BI team. This role will be vital in ensuring that we deliver a high quality Clinical Coding service. We are looking for an experienced Clinical Coder who is interested in joining a small but perfectly formed Clinical Coding Team to support delivery of clinical coding. The team have recently received the highest level of assurance in the MIAA clinical coding audit.

This would be an ideal role for someone who has extensive experience and detailed understanding of (Company Name - Subscribers only) Clinical Coding. The ideal candidatewould be an experienced accredited clinical coder who is interested in cancer specialisms.

The team are currently working remotely with one day per month required to work on site at our Clatterbridge Cancer Centre Wirral Site. Requirements for additional on-site working days may be required for meetings, personal training and to facilitate the training of other clinical coding team members on an as needed basis.

Main duties of the job

To provide an accurate, timely and consistent abstraction and coding of all relevant clinical information, relating to the diagnoses, procedures and treatments for all patients admitted to the Trust according to the coding conventions and standards of ICD-10 International(Classification of Diseases) and OPCS-4 (Classification of Surgical Operations and Procedures).

Applying independent judgement in the interpretation, transposition, and sequencing of clinical data to reflect an exact clinically coded representation of the patient’s hospital stay. This data is essential for the effective management of the Trust and directly influences income in line with the
