We are seeking to appoint a friendly, organised and professional Receptionist to become the welcoming face of our primary school. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children, parents and staff in a busy and rewarding environment.
As the first point of contact for visitors, parents and telephone enquiries, you will play a vital role in creating a positive impression of our school while providing efficient administrative support to the school office.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome visitors, parents, pupils and contractors in a professional and courteous manner.
- Undertake reception duties and manage visitor sign-in, ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed for all visitors.
- Manage the school’s reception area and telephone system.
- Respond to enquiries by phone, email and in person.
- Process incoming and outgoing post.
- Carry out a range of administrative duties, including photocopying, filing, emailing and forms.
- Support attendance administration and communication with parents where required.
- Deliver excellent customer service.
- Support pupil first aid and welfare.
- Maintain records.
- Comply with safeguarding, H&S, confidentiality and data protection.
- Support equality policies.
- Contribute to school ethos.
- Other commensurate duties.
About You
The successful candidate will:
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be warm, approachable and able to build positive relationships with children and adults.
- Be highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Be able to prioritise tasks and work calmly under pressure.
- Have good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
