We are recruiting for a Band 5 Nurse to join our dynamic and supportive Emergency Department team. In this role, you will provide care to patients in urgent and emergency situations, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will manage patient flow and support the department’s operations.

Main duties of the job
As a Band 5 Nurse in the Emergency Department, you will play a key role in providing high-quality, patient-focused care in urgent and emergency situations. Your main duties will include:
- Delivering direct patient care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring safety, comfort, and well-being.
- Assessing, planning, and implementing nursing care for patients presenting with a range of conditions.
- Managing patient flow and ensuring efficient and timely care delivery in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring their effects, and documenting appropriately.
- Supporting patients and their families by providing information, reassurance, and emotional support during critical and stressful situations.
- Working closely with senior nurses and doctors to manage clinical situations and contribute to decision-making.
- Participating in handovers, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is shared for continuous care.
- Maintaining high clinical and safety standards in line with hospital protocols and policies.
- Assisting with the training and development of junior staff and students, promoting a supportive learning environment.
- Continuously developing your clinical skills and knowledge through ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
