MET Technician – VISA Sponsored – (Company Name - Subscribers only) | Beckton: (Company Name - Subscribers only)
We are looking for a skilled and experienced MET Technician to join the team at our bodywork. This is one of three key roles we are looking to fill as we build a small, consistent, and highly skilled team. We are also recruiting for a Panel Beater and a Painter to work alongside you.
All candidates must be experienced. You will be responsible for the mechanical and electrical dismantling, repair, and reassembly of vehicles, as well as the fitment of trim components, working to the highest standards in our Beckton workshop. This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday.
About the Team
We are looking to form a cohesive unit of three experienced professionals:
- Panel Beater
- MET Technician (this role)
- Painter
We believe a stable, consistent team working together daily is the best way to deliver exceptional quality and efficiency for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out all mechanical, electrical, and trim (MET) work associated with vehicle repairs, including dismantling and reassembling components.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults, ensuring all systems function correctly before a vehicle is handed over.
- Remove and refit mechanical components such as engines, gearboxes, steering, suspension, and cooling systems.
- Work from technical data and repair methods to ensure all work meets manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Liaise closely with the Panel Beater and Painter to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow through the repair process.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
About You
This role is ideal for an experienced and meticulous MET Technician who takes pride in their craftsmanship. You will have a strong technical understanding of modern vehicle systems and repair techniques.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven, extensive experience as a MET Technician within the accident repair industry. All candidates must be experienced.
- A recognized qualification in mechanical or vehicle repair (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, or IMI accreditation) is highly desirable.
- Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to problem-solve effectively.
- The ability to work accurately and efficiently to meet deadlines without compromising on quality.
- Strong teamwork skills, with the willingness to collaborate closely with the Panel Beater and Painter.
- Own transport is desirable due to our location in Beckton.
Visa Sponsorship Information
We hold a licence to sponsor Skilled Worker visas. However, our preference is to find candidates who are already in the UK, such as former students who have relevant UK-based or international bodyshop experience.
It is essential that candidates are already in the UK so they can attend our Beckton workshop and complete a paid practical trial. We believe this is the fairest and most accurate way to assess the high standard of work we require, rather than relying on remote assessments or video demonstrations.
