Maintenance Assistant (Compliance)

The Department of Campus Infrastructure is responsible for the development, upkeep and management of the (Company Name - Subscribers only)’s buildings, and their upkeep is a vital part of our reputation for exceptional student experience!

We are seeking a Maintenance Assistant (Compliance) to undertake the routine testing of emergency lighting, fire alarms, fire extinguishers, RCDs, checking fire doors and compliance tasks. You will will also undertake planned and unplanned maintenance such as general repairs.

We would like to hear from you if you:

  • have practical hands-on DIY skills and the necessary vocational training and experience to undertake routine repairs
  • are familiar with and happy to work in the built environment, able to identify and remedy a variety of maintenance tasks and keep all affected informed of the situation
  • have flexible approach to work and a willingness to undertake training to improve knowledge
  • are committed to the role and able to work individually and as part of a team
  • have good problem solving, customer service and communication skills

A recognised City & Guilds or NVQ qualification in an engineering/building discipline (or a related subject) would be an advantage, but is not essential.

This is a full-time role, working 36.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

A driving licence is desirable to travel between various off-campus university properties.
