Kitchen Porter – Healthcare Catering Kitchen | Tullamore

We are recruiting Kitchen Porters to work in healthcare catering kitchens in Tullamore. The role involves supporting food service operations by maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in a healthcare environment.

The Role

You will work as part of a healthcare catering team, ensuring kitchen areas remain clean and compliant with food safety and infection control standards. The role includes cleaning duties and basic food preparation support.

Main Duties

Maintain cleanliness across kitchen areas, equipment and utensils
Wash dishes, cookware and service equipment
Assist with basic food preparation tasks
Support ward pantry, trolley and beverage station set-up and restocking
Record temperatures and assist with HACCP food safety compliance
Follow infection control and hygiene procedures
Support chefs, catering assistants and ward teams during service

Requirements

6–12 months’ experience in a kitchen porter, catering assistant or similar role
Experience in healthcare or hospital kitchens is desirable
Basic knowledge of food hygiene and HACCP
Legal right to work in Ireland
Garda Vetting is mandatory for relevant roles.
International Police Clearance is required where a candidate has lived or worked outside Ireland for 6 months or more since the age of 16
Ability to provide five years of verifiable work references
Reliable and able to work in a fast-paced environment
Good teamwork and communication skills
