The Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital, Margate, offer an exciting and supportive environment for ambitious professionals who want to work at the top of their game! We are looking for an experienced nurse to join our dynamic team as a Band 6 Sister. In this role, you will lead and deliver high-quality care to patients, guiding and mentoring junior staff to ensure excellent patient outcomes. You will manage the day-to-day operations of the department, ensuring efficient patient flow and resource management, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Main duties of the job
o To work in all areas of the department as required, in line with need and own scope of competenceo To demonstrate specialist patient care expertise underpinned by theory and incorporating evidence-based practiceo To maintain accountability and demonstrate skills in undertaking assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patients without supervisiono To take responsibility of the accurate assimilation, interpretation and reporting of clinical data in relation to patients and take appropriate actiono To review and modify planned interventions in response to the needs of patient care and acting independently where appropriate and seeking advice where requiredo To order appropriate diagnostic investigations, such as x-rays and laboratory tests, to assist in managing episodes of careo To prioritise own work and that of others to ensure the department is managed effectivelyo To ensure the provision and correct utilisation of specialist equipment for use in patient careo To promote standards of care, and in conjunction with senior colleagues develop these, incorporating current professional recommendations and evidence-based pathwayso To promote a multidisciplinary approach to care, recognising, utilising and valuing the expertise of other disciplineso To act as a positive role model and resource for health professionalso To provide leadership for the nursing team to ensure a high standard of patient care, providing support and supervision as required
