Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in a variety of settings, including care homes and nursing facilities. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, the ability to manage behaviours effectively, and a solid understanding of medical terminology and case management.

Duties

Assist individuals with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety.
Implement care plans tailored to the specific needs of each individual.
Administer medication as prescribed and monitor patients for any side effects or changes in condition.
Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance the well-being of those in your care.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive case management.
Maintain accurate records of patient care, including observations and changes in behaviour or health status.
Engage in behaviour management techniques to support individuals with challenging behaviours.
Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in patient care and support.

Requirements

Previous experience in a care role, particularly within nursing homes or care homes, is highly desirable.
Knowledge of medical terminology and experience with medication administration is advantageous.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
A compassionate approach with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for individuals receiving support.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated and able to work independently when required.
Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and individual needs.
