Employee Relations InvestigatorDepartmentHuman ResourcesSalaryStarting from £38,784, rising to £46,049Closing dateWednesday 17 December 2025This is an opportunity to take on a staff investigator role working alongside a highly skilled, forward-thinking and developmental HR team. About the role This role will focus on carrying out high quality investigations into a wide range of issues, including under the University’s Dignity & Respect Policy, Staff Disciplinary Policy, the Grievance Policy and, where applicable, the Research Misconduct Policy. In doing so, you will ensure that they are carried out in a transparent, rigorous, professional and timely manner, taking into account the wellbeing and safeguarding of all of the parties involved. You will take the lead responsibility as the investigator in assigned investigations into reports of varying complexity, which will primarily focus on staff respondents, but may, on occasion, include student reporting parties. In this role, you may investigate alone or, on occasion, with support from an HR Advisor or Business Partner. You will determine if there is a case to answer and, if found, will attend formal hearings and present the disciplinary case and cross examine the respondent staff member. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to policy development, developing, reviewing and revising identified HR policies, ensuring that they are clear, concise and straight-forward to follow, and that they meet all UK legislative requirements and are supportive of the culture that the University is seeking to create.
