Ballina Manor hotel are searching for a professional, experienced and talented Commis Chef with a natural passion for excellent food quality for our growing business.
We are offering a full-time employment for the right candidate who demonstrate reliability, skill and a passion for the culinary industry.

The successful candidate will report to the head chef and will work 39 hour per week.
Good command of English language, work well as part of a team and having a good work ethic are essential for this role. The applicant must be a good communicator, exceptionally friendly and inclusive, even after a long shift.
Responsibilities and duties will include:
Preparing and presenting a wide variety of high quality and complex dishes.
Keeping an eye on the section and standards.
Supervising other chefs to ensure top quality products.
Handling multiple tasks with attention to detail and presentation.
Maintaining a good working relationship with the restaurant manager.
Monitoring food temperatures.
Having a strong awareness and compliance with all Health & Safety work practices, and the HACCP protocol.
Maintaining cleanliness within work areas.
Ensuring a high standard of personal hygiene.
Stock controlling, ordering, checking quality.
Cost analysis and review.
Preparing reports and schedules.
To qualify for this position you must have the following minimum requirements:
High level creative skills and mastery in preparation of dishes and specialities. – Proven previous experience at the required skill level.
In addition you should also be:
Performance, achievement and results driven.
Able to work well with others.
Energetic, physically fit and in good health.
A hardworking, fastidious and conscientious individual.
Fast paced and be able to work under pressure.
