Cancer Pathway Navigator: (Company Name - Subscribers only)

Be the guiding force behind a patient’s cancer journey. As a Cancer Pathway Navigator at Sherwood Forest Hospitals (Company Name - Subscribers only) Foundation Trust, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring patients move smoothly, safely and swiftly from suspicion of cancer through to diagnosis and onward care.

Acting as a single point of contact during the early stages of the pathway, you will coordinate tests, appointments and admissions, proactively identifying and resolving delays to help deliver the 28-day Faster Diagnosis Standard. Working closely with clinicians, MDT coordinators and operational teams, you will ensure every step is aligned, timely and patient-focused.

Compassion and communication are at the heart of this role. You will support patients and families with empathy and clarity, keeping them informed, reducing anxiety and ensuring they feel heard and supported throughout.

Highly organised and proactive, you will manage complex information across multiple IT systems, maintain accurate documentation and escalate concerns where needed. You will also contribute to pathway improvement and service development across the Trust.

This is a rewarding opportunity to combine coordination, problem-solving and person-centred care in a role that truly makes a difference to patient outcomes and experience.

About us

We are an award-winning (Company Name - Subscribers only) Foundation Trust working alongside health and social care colleagues across the county to provide acute and community healthcare services to more than 420,000 people across Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark and Sherwood, and parts of Derbyshire and Lincolnshire.

We put the patient at the heart of everything that we do and it is our aim to make sure that every patient is treated as we would want a member of our own family to be treated. At the same time, we expect our staff to be caring, kind and courteous to each other and to look out for each other. We believe that we are truly a clinically-led organisation.

We are proud that our Trust colleagues have voted us the best acute Trust to work for in the East Midlands for seven years running in the National (Company Name - Subscribers only) Staff Survey, while the Care Quality Commission has rated our Trust as ‘outstanding’ for care and our King’s Mill Hospital as the only ‘outstanding’ (Company Name - Subscribers only)-run hospital in the East Midlands.
