We specialize in supplying a comprehensive range of high-quality, cost-effective electrical products, including Metal-Clad Consumer Units, Surge Protection Devices (SPD), AC Contactors, Arc Fault Detection Devices (AFDDs), EV Charging units, and various industrial components.
As we continue to expand our market presence and adapt to the growing demand for sustainable energy solutions, we are looking for a strategic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team and drive our sales growth across new and existing markets.
Job Purpose:
To lead the strategic development of our sales operations, identify new business opportunities, and manage key client relationships. You will be responsible for formulating long-term sales strategies that align with the company’s specialization in electrical distribution and innovative solutions like EV charging infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive business development plans to penetrate new market sectors and increase market share for our electrical product ranges (e.g., AFDDs, Three-Phase Boards, RCDs).
2. Client Relationship Management: Identify and establish relationships with new high-value clients and strategic partners (contractors, developers) in the UK and international markets.
3. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team to ensure high performance, setting clear objectives and conducting performance reviews to achieve company revenue targets.
4. Market Research & Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback, particularly regarding sustainable energy products (EV chargers), to adjust sales strategies accordingly.
5. Contract Negotiation: Negotiate terms and conditions with major clients to secure profitable contracts and long-term partnerships.
6. Operational Oversight: Coordinate with internal departments to ensure sales strategies are supported by adequate product knowledge and promotional activities.
7. Reporting: Prepare regular sales forecasts, budgets, and reports for senior management, highlighting opportunities and risks in the sales pipeline.
Requirements (Person Specification):
1. Education: A Bachelor’s degree or above in International Trade, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. Experience:
l Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in sales, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
l Proven track record in the electrical industry, wholesale distribution, or international trade is highly desirable.
l Experience managing European or international markets is essential.
3. Skills:
l Strong leadership and team management abilities.
l Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
l Proficiency in customer relationship management (CRM) systems and sales analytics.
l Ability to understand technical product specifications (electrical components, EV chargers, etc.).
l In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations and documentation (relevant to the candidate’s Master’s degree).
