Are you passionate about improving infant feeding outcomes and creative in shaping citywide public health practice?
Here in Leeds, we are committed to the ongoing development of our 0-19 Public Health Integrated Nursing Service (0-19 PHINS) and as such we are excited to offer a unique opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Registered Midwife or Health Visitor to lead our infant feeding offer.
This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact by shaping strategic service delivery, leading the implementation of evidence-based infant feeding support, and maintaining our prestigious UNICEF Baby Friendly (BFI) Gold accreditation. Whether you’re already familiar with the Healthy Child Programme or keen to develop your understanding, insight into the 0 to19 service context will support your success in this role.

Main duties of the job
You will:
- Provide strategic and clinical leadership across the 0-19 PHINS, relating to breastfeeding, responsive feeding, and early nutrition.
- Oversee the services maintenance of UNICEF BFI Gold accreditation, contributing to audits, policy development, and innovative initiatives that improve outcomes for children and families.
- Lead staff training, support service development, and promote equitable access to evidence-based infant feeding practices.
- Provide specialist support to staff to ensure consistent understanding and application of evidence-based practice in infant feeding.
- Work closely with maternity services, commissioners, and community organisations to ensure inclusive, high-quality care and seamless multi-agency pathways.
- Contribute to service design and improvement through community engagement.
- Represent the service at regional meetings and be a key member of the Leeds Breastfeeding Partnership.
This post offers potential for future development, subject to service need. This role is fixed term for 18 Months.
