Vehicle Paint Technicians: (Company Name - Subscribers only)

Our client, PJ Martley Limited, based in Portlaoise, Co. Laois, is currently seeking Vehicle Paint Technicians for immediate start at their facility in Portlaoise, Co. Laois.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
– To prepare vehicles and vehicle components for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, filling, and priming surfaces.
– To mix and match paint colours according to manufacturer specifications and repair requirements.
– To apply primers, base coats, clear coats, and specialised automotive coatings using spray-painting equipment.
– To paint repaired vehicle panels and full vehicle bodies to manufacturer and industry standards.
– To inspect completed paintwork for defects, including runs, sags, contamination, colour mismatch, or unpainted areas.
– To carry out polishing, finishing, and rectification work where required.
– To use spray guns, paint mixing systems, sanding equipment, and other bodyshop tools safely and effectively.
– To maintain spray booths, painting equipment, and associated tools in a clean and serviceable condition.
– To comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations relating to paints, solvents, thinners, and hazardous materials.
– To cooperate with panel beaters, mechanics, and other bodyshop personnel to ensure efficient completion of vehicle repairs.
– To have experience in accident repair centres, vehicle refurbishment facilities, dealerships, or commercial bodyshops is highly desirable.

Requirements – Skills & Experience
– Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Vehicle Spray Painter, Automotive Paint Technician, or similar role within a bodyshop environment.
– A qualification in automotive refinishing is advantageous but not essential.
– Strong knowledge of automotive paint systems, colour matching techniques, and vehicle refinishing processes.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
– Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
– Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to automotive paint operations.
– Competent in paint preparation, masking, sanding, colour matching, spray-paint application, polishing, and quality inspection.
– Experience maintaining painting equipment and handling hazardous materials safely.

Annual Remuneration: €36,605.00; Pay rate €18.05 per hour

Work Location: PJ Martley Limited, Kilminchy, Dublin Road, Portlaoise, Co. Laois, R32 CPA4

Number of hours work each week: 39
