Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Transport Manager to oversee and coordinate all transportation operations within our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing logistics, ensuring efficient supply chain processes, and maintaining high standards of customer service. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in IT systems and Microsoft Office applications. The Transport Manager will play a vital role in optimising transport routes, managing a team of drivers, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Duties

  • Oversee daily transportation operations, including planning and scheduling routes to optimise efficiency and minimise costs.
  • Manage a team of drivers, providing leadership, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Coordinate with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure all transport complies with safety standards and legal requirements.
  • Utilise IT systems such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) to generate reports, analyse data, and maintain accurate records.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal departments to resolve issues promptly.
  • Develop and implement policies to improve transportation efficiency and safety procedures.
  • Organise documentation related to transport operations, including delivery schedules, driver logs, and compliance records.
  • Analyse logistical data to identify areas for process improvement and cost reduction.
  • Ensure excellent customer service by addressing client queries professionally and efficiently.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in management within logistics or transportation sectors.
  • Strong driving skills with a valid driving licence suitable for organisational vehicles or lorries.
  • Extensive knowledge of logistics, supply chain management, and transportation regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) along with general IT literacy.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex logistical challenges with problem-solving skills.
  • Customer service orientation with a professional approach to client interactions. This role offers an engaging environment where organisational excellence is valued highly.
