Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Traffic Marshall to oversee the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians in various environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, management experience, and a keen sense of maintenance to ensure that all traffic operations run smoothly. This role is crucial for maintaining safety standards and ensuring compliance with traffic regulations.
Responsibilities
- Direct and manage the flow of vehicles and pedestrians in designated areas to ensure safety.
- Monitor traffic conditions and respond promptly to any incidents or disruptions.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, pedestrians, and other personnel to provide clear instructions.
- Conduct regular inspections of traffic management equipment and signage to ensure proper maintenance.
- Report any maintenance needs or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist in training new staff members on traffic management protocols and procedures.
- Maintain a calm and professional demeanour in high-pressure situations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a management or supervisory role is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with diverse groups.
- A valid driving licence is required; experience driving various types of vehicles is advantageous.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while remaining alert and focused.
- Knowledge of traffic regulations and safety protocols is beneficial.
