One Adoption West Yorkshire is a shared regional adoption service across the five West Yorkshire Local Authorities. It is hosted by Leeds City Council with office bases across West Yorkshire. Core services are the recruitment and assessment of all adopters, family finding for children, and adoption support through all life stages. Our vision is to ensure that all those impacted by adoption in West Yorkshire receive an excellent adoption service.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the regional adoption agency as a Team Manager in the Adoption Support Service. We are seeking to appoint a part-time Team Manager (18.5 hours) who’s primary focus will be on leading a responsive, child centred Supporting Connections service, maintaining clear oversight of demand and fair allocation across the wider agency, translating the Supporting Connections Strategy into practical improvements as needs evolve, and working as part of the management team to deliver consistently high quality outcomes.

About you

As a Team Manager, you will bring to the role:

  • An ability to inspire a team of Social Workers providing them with high quality supervision and support.
  • Relevant knowledge and skills in relation to working in Children’s Services.
  • Motivation to improve adoption performance and outcomes for children and families.
  • An ability to engage with partners and stakeholders including Local Authorities and work as part of a wider team management group.

About the role

The role is integral to our Adoption Support/Supporting Connections team which helps adopted children and their families maintain safe, meaningful relationships with birth relatives and other significant people. The team’s work is child-centred and tailored to individual needs, aiming to strengthen relationships and uphold the lifelong importance of belonging.

As our next Team Manager you’ll thrive on coaching a high performing team and turning the Supporting Connections Strategy into day-to-day practice while contributing to the management team’s continuous improvement agenda.
