We are looking for energetic and committed Nurses to join our established Pre Assessment team. It’s a great time to join our team, we have several major transformation and improvement projects underway including the building of a multi-million, state of the art Day Surgery Centre as well as a major refurbishment of some of our older theatres at Hull Royal Infirmary delivering a programme of work that will benefit the community for many years to come.

The Pre Assessment service plays a vital role in a patient’s surgical pathway, the team covers a wide variety of surgical procedures. You will support in assessing patient’s health and well-being across a complex and changing caseload, assisting in the delivery of care to meet the patient’s needs.
As a Pre Assessment Nurse, you can expect;
– To provide all patient pre-assessments, liaising as appropriate with other clinical professionals.
– Providing clinical expertise ensuring the highest standards of nursing care are consistently provided to all patients attending the department.
– Assess patients’ health and wellbeing across a complex variety of specialities.
– Rotation within all surgical wards and the admissions lounge will be an integral part of your role. This will facilitate maintaining clinical skills and competencies required to effectively pre assess patients.
– Be an advocate for patient care, searching for ways to improve the value and effectiveness of care and services delivered to meet individuals’ health and wellbeing needs
Who we’re looking for
– Be NMC registered – your pin should not have any restrictions or conditions
– Nursing experience within surgery
– Previous experience of Pre-operative assessment is desired but not essential.
– Excellent communication and time management skills
