An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen to recruit a Sister/Charge Nurse to our Acute Stroke unit and care of the elderly ward. We are looking for an enthusiastic experienced registered nurse to join our friendly team.
We are a 28 bedded unit split between joint specialities of acute stroke and care of the elderly. We work closely with the multi disciplinary team comprising of SALT, neuro and medical physios and occupational therapists and dietetics.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate has the responsibility take a lead role in the co-ordination, planning and delivery of individual care provided by the multidisciplinary team on the ward by ensuring the effective management of the ward in the absence of the lead nurse.
The post holder will have responsibility for the assessment of care needs and the planning development, implementation and evaluation of programs of care so that adjustments can be made within their sphere of responsibility.
The post holder will take a lead role in promoting clinical excellence through their practice, participating in evidence based practice.
The post holder will ensure that all nursing documentation is complete, up to date and in line with NMC and Trust guidelines.
The post holder is expected to take a lead role in facilitating, educate, supervising, supporting and developing both qualified and unqualified staff, within their sphere of responsibility on a daily basis.
