Working Part time: 20 hours per week

The post of Senior Medical Education Fellows (ST3+) will work across the Medical Education department and will cover all specialties within the curriculum. It would ideally suit doctors wishing to expand their clinical teaching experience and is anticipated to appeal to those thinking of ‘out of programme training’ or who would like to gain more experience in undergraduate medical education.

This is a 12-month fixed term post working in medical education. The working pattern would largely be fixed days for the Medical Education department with some flexibility to support continuous professional development and other teaching opportunities.The post offers an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated doctor to join dynamic, rapidly expanding teams delivering medical undergraduate, multi-professional education and clinical services within the emergency medicine department.

Due to the short term nature of the role/service demand, the successful candidate must hold full registration with the GMC, must have completed a Foundation Programme Equivalent qualification, completed core training of a relevant specialty (or equivalent level) and must have existing right to live and work in the UK, at the time of application.

The successful candidate must have at least 24 months (clinical) experience of working within the (Company Name - Subscribers only) and have a good understanding of UK medical undergraduate training.

Main duties of the job

Develop a working understanding of research and education design methodology as it relates to Medical Education.

Pursue and evidence a wide-ranging portfolio of teaching experience including: small group bedside teaching, class room based teaching, clinical skills, clinical simulation and the development of e-learning and other teaching resources.

Contribute to the supervision and feedback to undergraduate medical students in their trust, under the direction of an accredited educational supervisor.

Feedback and contribute to University of Chester curriculum development team

Complete, present or write up an educational project during their year
