Our client is on a mission to redefine how humans and AI collaborate. By reimagining digital productivity, they’re empowering millions of users to unlock new dimensions of creativity, learning, and performance.

They’re building a world-class platform used globally – and now they’re hiring their first Senior Chaos Engineer to help scale with resilience.

Why This Role Matters

Do you love breaking things on purpose – and making systems stronger because of it? This is a rare opportunity to define and lead chaos engineering from the ground up. You’ll design controlled failure scenarios, uncover hidden risks, and build a culture of reliability through experimentation and learning. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Define the chaos engineering strategy, tooling, safety practices, and roadmap
  • Design fault injection experiments across mobile and backend systems
  • Simulate real-world issues: latency spikes, outages, cascading failures, resource exhaustion
  • Build tooling to automate experiments and improve observability
  • Set guardrails and blast radius controls to ensure safe, reversible testing
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to stress-test critical flows and assumptions
  • Facilitate resilience drills and chaos game days
  • Document findings, translate insights into improvements, and influence engineering practices
  • Mentor others and help grow the chaos engineering function

Who You Are

  • Proven experience with chaos engineering or fault injection in distributed systems
  • Strong Swift skills and understanding of iOS platforms and mobile networking
  • Deep knowledge of resilience patterns (circuit breakers, bulkheads, retries, etc.)
  • Experience with incident postmortems, war games, or reliability reviews
  • Comfortable scripting and building tools to automate chaos experiments
  • Scientific mindset: hypothesis-driven, curious, and edge-case obsessed
  • Excited to build a program from scratch – not just join one

What’s In It For You

  • Remote-friendly & flexible working hours
  • Medical insurance for you and your dependents
  • Generous annual leave
  • Meaningful equity in a profitable tech startup
  • Budget for home office setup, training, and wellness
  • Annual company offsite
  • Fantastic maternity/paternity packages
  • Visa sponsorship and relocation support
