We are expanding our innovative, award-winning team and currently seeking a Scheduler/Planner
General scope of role:
The Scheduler/Planner is part of the technical team within O’Carroll Engineering (OCE) providing support to multiple departments within the organisation. The Scheduler/Planner creates and populates schedules from pre-production to site-installation. The role is critical to developing, improving and monitoring schedules.
Main duties:
Create new and sub projects
Work with estimators and construction management to input agreed timelines
Manage timelines of process from design, production, fabrication, finishing, subcontractors, assembly through to site installation
Responsible for identifying project milestones, sharing schedules and timelines
Monitor resource requirements based on scheduled workload and advise of any capacity issues
Co-ordinate with the Construction Manager throughout each project to ensure on time delivery
Gather data incorporating any changes in the work scope and update schedule
Identify potential risks or deviations that can hinder the project schedule (critical path development)
Recommend modifications to improve effectiveness to achieve project milestones
Assist, maintain and review detailed master programmes, through providing accurate and timely data
Track and monitor progress – regular Progress Reporting
Assist with the integration of programmes into BIM models (3D planning)
Act as point of contact and provide guidance on schedules to colleagues within each department
Ensure compliance with all quality and legislative standards.
Minimum requirements of Scheduler/Planner:
Third level degree in a relevant discipline and advantage
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in planning and scheduling within the manufacturing or construction industry
Experience using Gantt charts (Microsoft Project or similar)
Proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word Outlook and MS project
Attention to detail and quality assurance
Working knowledge of scheduling/planning for steel fabrication preferred
Proven ability to multi-task with flexibility to move between projects
Excellent verbal and written communication skill with fluency in technical English
Experience in Lean Manufacturing an advantage
