Research Fellow in Exoplanets: (Company Name - Subscribers only)

Do you hold a PhD in Astrophysics or a closely related discipline? Do you have expertise in exoplanet atmospheres, hydrodynamical modelling, or mass loss from exoplanets? Do you want to further your career in one of the UKs leading research-intensive Universities?

The (Company Name - Subscribers only) invites applications for a 3-year postdoctoral position studying mass loss from ultrashort period planets. These rocky planets orbit extremely close their host star and offer a unique opportunity to probe the interior composition of exoplanets because their surfaces are hot enough for the rocky material to evaporate.

You will work with Dr Richard Booth on an STFC-funded project investigating the formation of dusty comet-like tails from ultrashort period planets and exploring how these tails can be used to probe planetary interiors.

You will join the Astrophysics Group in the School of Physics and Astronomy at the (Company Name - Subscribers only), an active research community covering areas from star and planet formation to exoplanet atmospheres.

We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
