Religious Priest – Swindon Hindu Temple & Cultural Centre | Swindon: Swindon Hindu Temple & Cultural Centre

## Job Overview
We are seeking a Religious Priest to join our community and provide spiritual guidanceleading religious services, performing sacred rituals, and offering spiritual guidance to the community. This position requires a deep understanding of Hindu scriptures and traditions and involves both ceremonial duties and community engagement.

## Duties
· Lead daily, weekly, and special worship services.

· Officiate at life events such as weddings, funerals, and naming ceremonies.

· Organize and lead major festivals and holy days.

· Provide spiritual counselling and advice to individuals and families.

· Teach religious education classes and scriptural studies.

· Support individuals in times of personal crisis or need.

· Oversee the preparation and offering of rituals and ceremonies.

· Ensure the cleanliness and sanctity of the temple and its surroundings.

· Maintain and care for religious artefacts and icons.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with the temple community.

· Coordinate community events and outreach programs.

· Participate in interfaith activities and community service projects.

· Keep accurate records of religious ceremonies and events.

· Assist in the planning and organization of temple activities.

· Report regularly to the temple committee, and Trustees .

## Experience
– Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with diverse audiences
– Proficient in public speaking and delivering sermons
– Knowledge of religious traditions, rituals, and scriptures
– Previous experience in leading religious services is desirable
– Willingness to continuously learn and grow in religious studies

· Extensive knowledge of Hindu scriptures, rituals, and traditions.

· Proven experience in a similar religious role.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

· Ability to provide compassionate spiritual guidance.

· Proficiency in relevant languages, English, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati including Sanskrit (preferred).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £20,000.00-£24,000.00 per year
