An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of a Registered Mental Health Nurse to join the adult eating disorders intensive day service and intensive day service at home team. The service is based at Imperial Avenue in Norton. The service is open 08.00 – 18.00 hrs Monday – Friday, Some Eating Disorder experience is essential.

The post holder will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team delivering high quality patient focused care in a community setting.

Main duties of the job

The role will involve improving the lives of people with Anorexia Nervosa and the impact of their condition through the delivery of excellent services to promote recovery and wellbeing.

The successful postholder will complete thorough risk assessments, care planning and care delivery of patients.

You will be be compassionate in meeting the needs of patients and their carers whilst maintaining safety, privacy and dignity of all patients in the delivery of patient centred care, recognising and respecting differences including spiritual and cultural beliefs.

You will be responsible for recognising the signs of patient harm, abuse or neglect, and follows correct safeguarding policies

You will undertake delegated activities within level of own competency, and with due regard to risk assessment, to assist with the implementation of intervention plans as part of the multidisciplinary team.

In addition to this, the postholder will complete patient assessment tools and accurately summarises within patient care records.

You will identify changes in patients’ presentation and acts, reports and records appropriately.

You will accompany and provide support to patients in a variety of community settings, as delegated and dependent on current risk assessment.

You will assist in the provision of health education and advice on health promotion to patients and their carers.
