Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our team in providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and experience working with children. As a Nursery Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily activities of the nursery, ensuring that each child feels safe, valued, and engaged.

Duties

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of educational activities that promote learning and development.
  • Supervise and engage with children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Communicate effectively with children, fostering their social skills and emotional development.
  • Support the lead nursery staff in managing daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and hygiene practices.
  • Maintain a clean and organised environment that is conducive to learning.
  • Observe and report on children’s progress to assist in their developmental assessments.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create an inclusive atmosphere for all children.
  • Drive to local outings or events as required, ensuring safe transportation of children.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in childcare or working with young children in the United Kingdom is essential.
  • A background in early childhood education is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a calm demeanour.
  • Leadership qualities that enable you to guide and support children effectively.
  • A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting children as needed.
  • A genuine passion for nurturing children’s growth and development.
