Renovo is an independent specialist provider for the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of adults with neurological conditions, including acquired brain injury (ABI), and progressive neurological disorders. Based in 16 acres of stunning picturesque and peaceful surroundings; staff have access to the mature gardens, lake and links to major roads from the hospital site and free on-site parking.

Role overview:

15 Hours Per Week (Flexible)

Previous experience required, with appropriate qualifications.

Reporting to the Music Therapy Clinical Lead, you will be a core member of the wider Allied Health Professions team. The purpose of this role is to deliver individual and group sessions to an ABI and TBI population according to evidence-based practice and in line with HCPC standards of proficiency.

Clinical supervision will be provided in house by the Music Therapy Lead.

Key responsibilities:

· To provide evidence-based Music Therapy assessment and treatment to an allocated caseload.

· To provide 1:1 and group interventions to patients to address a range of needs.

· Contribute to MDT care planning and review.

· Facilitate induction and other educational opportunities for new starters and external visitors to site.

· To provide training when required and if appropriate to junior members of staff.

· Contribute to audit and research as directed by the line manager.

· Plan sessions ensuring they are person-centred, taking into consideration service users’ preferences, cultural, ethnical, and religious background.

· Plan patients’ timetables and keep timetables up to date.

· Record sessions attended by each patient in a timely manner in interdisciplinary electronic records.

· Monitor, evaluate and adapt ongoing clinical work according to each patient needs.

· Attend clinical meetings and communicate with colleagues, external agencies, families and carers.

· Comply with relevant codes of practice, such as the HCPC.

· Maintain, clean and store equipment in a safe condition and attend to risk issues concerning its use.

· This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for an Enhanced Disclosure be made to the Disclosure & Barring Service.

Requirements:

  • MA in Music Therapy
  • HCPC registration
  • BAMT Member
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines
  • Experience working with individuals with ABI and TBI
  • Knowledge of insurance billing procedures is a plus
