Position Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing all maintenance activities at Clayton’s, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of machinery and facilities. This role requires a strategic leader with extensive experience in maintenance management, a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems, and a commitment to safety and quality. The Maintenance Supervisor will play a crucial role in developing and implementing maintenance strategies, managing a team of maintenance technicians, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance Management:

  • Oversee all maintenance activities to ensure the reliability and efficiency of machinery and equipment.
  • Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to minimise downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of maintenance technicians, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and facilitate training and development opportunities.
  • Ensure a safe and positive working environment, promoting health and safety standards.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement lean maintenance principles to enhance productivity.
  • Utilise data and analytics to drive decision-making and measure the impact of improvements.
  • Collaborate with the Process Improvement Manager on key projects to enhance maintenance operations.

Resource Management:

  • Manage and allocate resources, including labour, materials, and equipment, to maximise efficiency and minimise costs.
  • Oversee maintenance schedules to ensure all machinery and equipment are in optimal working condition.
  • Develop and manage the maintenance budget, tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Manage a spare parts inventory in line with equipment requirements
  • Monitor and report on equipment breakdown and response times to fixes.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other departments, including Manufacturing, Logistics, and Supply Chain, to ensure seamless operations.
  • Communicate regularly with senior management to provide updates on maintenance status, challenges, and achievements.
  • Engage with external suppliers and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services.
  • Coordinate with external contracts and manage LSA or servicing requirements.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in the kitchen or furniture manufacturing industry.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management systems (MMS) and computer maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.

Pay: £50,000.00-£57,000.00 per year
