Job Description

As a Joiner, you will be responsible for crafting, installing, and repairing wooden structures and fittings. Your work will be crucial in ensuring the quality and finish of our projects, from initial framing to intricate finishing touches.

Responsibilities

* Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine materials and dimensions.
* Measure, cut, shape, and assemble timber and wood products to construct various structures and fittings.
* Install doors, windows, skirting boards, architraves, kitchen units, and other fixtures.
* Construct and erect timber framework, roof trusses, and other structural components.
* Carry out remedial work and repairs to existing timber structures.
* Operate and maintain woodworking machinery and hand tools safely and effectively.
* Collaborate effectively with other construction workers, such as bricklayers, plumbers, and electricians.
* Adhere strictly to all health and safety guidelines and regulations on site.
* Ensure high-quality finishes and attention to detail in all work.

Requirements

* Proven work experience as a Joiner (2 years preferred on construction sites).
* Proficient in various joinery techniques (first fix, second fix, roofing, etc.).
* Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
* Excellent manual dexterity, precision, and attention to detail.
* Knowledge of different types of timber and woodworking materials.
* Ability to use and maintain a wide range of joinery tools and machinery.
* Physical stamina and strength to handle the demands of the job.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Valid CSCS Card (preferred).
* Own tools and PPE are preferred.
