Job Description:
As an HGV Mechanic, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing heavy goods vehicles used in waste collection and recycling operations. Your role ensures vehicle safety, efficiency, and compliance with environmental regulations.

Minimum Annual Remuneration and Benefits:
€38,480 per year (based on experience)
This is a full-time, fixed-term contract for 2 years with a possibility of extension
20 days annual leave

Location of Employment:
Ray Whelan Ltd, Cannery Rd, Carlow, Co. Carlow, (R93R2X7) Ireland

Hours of Work:
39 hours per week.
Monday to Thursday: 8 am to 4:45pm (45min break)
Friday: 8 am to 3:45pm (45min break)

Key Responsibilities:
Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine servicing, inspections, and repairs.
Diagnostics and Repairs: Identify and fix mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
Fleet Compliance: Ensure vehicles meet safety and roadworthiness standards.
Breakdown Assistance: Respond to emergencies and minimize downtime.
Equipment Handling: Maintain compactors, hydraulic lifts, and waste collection mechanisms.
Safety and Efficiency: Follow health and safety protocols and optimize vehicle performance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
Relevant mechanical qualifications (HGV maintenance certification preferred).
Experience working with heavy-duty vehicles in waste or recycling operations.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
A good level of English to collaborate efficiently with colleagues.
