Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in a variety of settings, including care homes and nursing facilities. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, the ability to manage behaviours effectively, and a solid understanding of medical terminology and case management.

Duties

  • Assist individuals with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Implement care plans tailored to the specific needs of each individual.
  • Administer medication as prescribed and monitor patients for any side effects or changes in condition.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance the well-being of those in your care.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive case management.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient care, including observations and changes in behaviour or health status.
  • Engage in behaviour management techniques to support individuals with challenging behaviours.
  • Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in patient care and support.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a care role, particularly within nursing homes or care homes, is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and experience with medication administration is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • A compassionate approach with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for individuals receiving support.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated and able to work independently when required.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and individual needs.
