We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Health Care Assistant to join our warm and welcoming family run nursing home.
Full-Time position available.
Applicants must be willing to work days, alternative weekends, and also be flexible to ensure our residents receive continuity, and quality of care.
The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for working with older people, and a commitment to enhancing their quality of life. As a Health Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in the daily care and support of our residents, working closely with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
Key responsibilities will include:
Assist residents with daily activities including personal hygiene, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
Provide companionship and emotional support to residents.
Monitor and record residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any changes to nursing staff.
Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents.
Assist in the implementation of care plans and activities tailored to residents’ needs and preferences.
Support residents in maintaining their independence and dignity.
Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and the healthcare team.
Qualifications and Skills:
FETAC level 5 (or equivalent) in healthcare studies/nursing desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided to the successful candidate at no cost.
Possess good communication skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
Reliable and flexible with a positive attitude.
Compassionate, patient, and caring nature.
Other:
Applicants will be required to submit to Garda Vetting.
There will be an interview process after Garda clearance.
Applicants must have a strong command of the English language in order to communicate with both patients and team members.
