Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Event Manager to oversee the planning and execution of various events. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences. This role requires a proactive approach to event management, with a focus on upselling services and enhancing the overall hospitality experience.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute events from conception to completion, ensuring all details are managed effectively.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and requirements for each event.
  • Manage budgets and negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and venues.
  • Coordinate logistics including catering, transportation, audiovisual needs, and guest accommodations.
  • Develop event timelines and ensure all aspects of the event run smoothly.
  • Upsell additional services to clients to enhance their event experience.
  • Work closely with restaurant and hotel staff to ensure high standards of guest services are met.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to assess success and gather feedback for future improvements.
  • Assist in fundraising efforts by planning charity events that align with organisational goals.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in event management or a related field within hospitality or fundraising sectors.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to engage with diverse audiences.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Experience in upselling services within a restaurant or hotel environment is advantageous.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making during events.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required by event schedules.
  • A passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences in a fast-paced environment.
