Salary Range – ACN3: £96,963 – £128,841.00 Per Annum Pro Rata.

CMVM / MGPHS / USHER Institute.

Open Ended Contract – Permanent.

Part Time – 16 Hours per week / 0.4FTE.

The Centre for Population Health Sciences at the Usher Institute within The (Company Name - Subscribers only) is looking for a Director of GP Undergraduate Teaching. This will be a 0.4FTE appointment

The Opportunity:

This is an excellent opportunity for a GP with skills in medical education to lead undergraduate GP teaching at the (Company Name - Subscribers only). The postholder will take over leadership of a dynamic group of GP teachers, and engage in the delivery and strategic development of General Practice at the university. The MBChB curriculum at the (Company Name - Subscribers only) is going through a period of significant transformation; the postholder will have the opportunity to support the university in its ambitions to deliver more medical teaching in the community, and graduate more doctors with a passion for working in clinical and/or academic general practice.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Strong track record in excellence as an undergraduate medical educator, with experience of course design and implementation.
  • An experienced GP with wide clinical knowledge and leadership skills (Desirable).
  • An appropriate postgraduate qualification – eg PGCE or equivalent; higher degree in education (eg MSc in Medical Education); Membership/Fellowship of Higher Education Academy (Desirable).
  • Well organised, with demonstrable managerial ability and the experience of working unsupervised
  • Experience of contributing to and working collaboratively with a variety of teams (Desirable).
