Head Dental Nurse – Full Time at Wokingham, RG40 2EE
We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and confident Head Dental Nurse to lead our nursing team and support the smooth day-to-day running of our busy, well-established dental practice.
This is a key leadership role, ideal for a dental nurse who enjoys supporting both patients and colleagues, maintaining high clinical standards, and contributing to the delivery of outstanding patient care.
Working Hours
Monday – Friday: 08:30 – 17:30
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, support, and supervise the dental nursing team
- Ensure compliance with CQC standards, infection control, and clinical governance at all times
- Provide chairside support to dentists and the wider clinical team when required
- Manage nursing rotas, holiday requests, and sickness/absence cover
- Oversee stock control, equipment maintenance, and daily surgery readiness
- Support the onboarding, training, and ongoing development of nursing staff
- Act as a key point of contact for nursing-related queries and concerns
- Assist management with audits, compliance processes, and general practice organisation
About You
- GDC registered Dental Nurse (essential)
- Previous experience as a Head Dental Nurse or in a senior nursing role (preferred)
- Strong leadership, organisational, and time-management skills
- Confident communicator with a calm, professional approach
- Excellent understanding of CQC standards and cross-infection control
- Able to lead by example and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Passionate about patient care and team development

Pay: From £15.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
