Deck Hand Deep Sea: (Company Name - Subscribers only)

Deck hand on board an 18m wooden hulled potting boat. Duties will include preparing the boat and gear for sailing, baiting, setting and hauling the gear. Handling, sorting and packing the catch for sale. Ongoing maintenance on the boat and gear. The boat is based on the West coast but fishing will be carried out around the West and South Coasts as necessary. 39 hours per week with additional hours depending on the business week. The boats typically fishes for two days per trip weather permitting. All hours worked in excess of 39 will be paid at the appropriate overtime rate. Please note that previous potting experience is essential as is the ability to cut crab.
