About the role
Cancer Research UK funded study: Developing digital videos using user-centred participatory methods to support the early detection of skin cancer via self-examination of the skin, targeted at risk and under-served population groups.
This post will focus on supporting the day-to-day operations of the project under supervision and support of the Principal Investigator and Centre lead, Professor Steven Ersser, as part of the research activities taking place within the Centre for Wellbeing & Long-Term Health.
As an experienced and motivated Post-doctoral researcher, you will be able to demonstrate excellent research skills and be enthusiastic about using applied mixed-method and participatory research approaches to promote wellbeing through supporting the early detection of skin cancer by the public and patients from hard to reach (older men) and under-served groups (people of colour). One key area of activity will be to help coordinate the activity of the project team, working with a digital health technical team, health service users and those with skin cancer and skin cancer experts, whilst undertaking related data collection and analysis, to support the coordination and delivery of the project.
You will be qualified to Doctorate level and be able to demonstrate a commitment to project delivery and contributing to a culture of academic excellence and continuous improvement.
Applications are welcome from those with particular expertise in applied mixed method/ participatory methods within the area of health/ clinical / health promotion research.
This position will not typically meet the eligibility requirements for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Route within the UK Visa and Immigration service’s Points Based System, unless exceptional circumstances apply, e.g. meeting the ‘new entrant’ criteria.
