As an Estimating Manager, Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Developing and overseeing the estimating process.
Coordinating with various teams and disciplines during the Project Cost/Scope Development phase.
Creating detailed cost estimates based on client drawings.
Preparing comprehensive tender submissions for clients.
Developing Target Costs.
Conducting governance and due diligence checks prior to submitting tenders, in accordance with the Company’s delegated authority levels.
Updating Target Costs to Estimates at subsequent Gate approval stages.
Ensuring Actual Cost data is collected from the Project Team and reported at Project Completion.
Advising the Senior Leadership Team on commercial factors and risks associated with bids.
Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to produce accurate and timely cost data and estimates.
Ensuring supplier/subcontractor terms align with client requirements where possible, and assessing the impact of any deviations.
Prioritising workload and supporting the team to deliver results in a timely manner to meet business objectives.
Engaging with key stakeholders, including customers and operational colleagues, on a daily basis.
Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
Preferably experienced with MEICA equipment and services in the construction of Water and Wastewater Treatment Works.
Ability to understand the complexities of MEICA equipment and systems and communicate these issues to the Bid Team.
Practical experience with MEICA equipment is desirable.
Ability to evaluate supply chain proposals for MEICA equipment, including scope, technical compliance, and commercial considerations.
Strong experience understanding civil infrastructure including scope, technical compliance, and commercial considerations.
Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings from clients, developing baseline cost estimates, and producing labour, plant, and material cost breakdowns.
Essential experience in the water industry, ideally covering both water and wastewater, including infrastructure and non-infrastructure environments, with additional utility estimating experience being advantageous.
Preferably degree-qualified in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Cost & Planning, or a related discipline.
Knowledge of commercial and contractual aspects of various NEC Contracts (Options A to E).
