Join us as a Chief Data Office Business Partner, where you’ll be responsible for supporting the implementation of our Data & Records Management Strategy and ensuring proper governance of data across the bank. You will work closely with key stakeholders from both the technology and business teams to align on data responsibilities and initiatives. Your role will involve assessing and addressing data-related queries and issues, providing guidance and recommendations to ensure effective data management and compliance throughout the organisation.
To be successful as a Chief Data Office Business Partner, you should have:
- Proven stakeholder management experience.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Focus on execution and track record of delivery data-driven projects.

- Data analysis experience.

- Previous gathering and documenting business requirements experience to help ensure that data solutions align with business objectives.

This role is based in Glasgow.
Purpose of the role
To enable effective data governance, risk management, and compliance within the bank, acting as a liaison between business units and the Data & Records Management (DRM) function, translating business needs into actionable strategies and ensuring efficient implementation of DRM. Â
Accountabilities
- Partnership with the local business unit to ensure successful implementation of data & records governance frameworks as appropriate to the needs of the business unit.
- Provision of guidance and support on records classification, retention, storage, retrieval and disposal to business units.
- Monitoring local data quality and records metrics and identify areas for improvement.
- Identification of opportunities for data improvement and optimisation.
- Partnership with the relevant business unit to support their data priorities and ensure appropriate decisions related to data & records are embedded in their BAU decision making and change programs.

- Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
- Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
- Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
- Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
- Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
- Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.
- Communicate complex information. ‘Complex’ information could include sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.
- Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
