Care Assistant – Complex Care – (Company Name - Subscribers only) | Barnstaple: (Company Name - Subscribers only)
(Company Name - Subscribers only) is looking for experienced Care Assistants to provide 2:1 support for a 23-year-old woman living with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). FND is when someone experiences problems with how their brain and body send and receive signals – It can cause symptoms like weakness, movement problems, seizures, or issues with speech and sensation. She also lives with Autism, Anxiety and Depression, Hypermobility, and Meares Irlen Syndrome (where the brain struggles to process visual information). She sometimes presents with challenging behaviours and requires consistent, compassionate care from confident and resilient Care Assistants.
She enjoys routine, reassurance and engaging support throughout the day. Your role will be to ensure her safety, promote her independence where possible, and provide patient and professional care tailored to her individual needs.
Shift Details:
- 07:00 – 22:00 Monday to Sunday
Pay Rates:
- Monday – Friday: £15.00 p/hr
- Saturday & Sunday: £17.55 p/hr
- Bank Holidays: £20.55 p/hr

What We’re Looking For
- Confident, patient and resilient
- Experience working with autism and challenging behaviour (desirable)
- Engaging and personable with a caring nature
- Experienced Care Assistant
The ideal candidate will be a confident, patient, and resilient Care Assistant with experience supporting people with autism, anxiety, or challenging behaviours would being beneficial. An understanding of conditions such as (FND), would be helpful but full training and ongoing support will be provided.
What You’ll Need
- Good References (covering at least 3 years)
- You must be a car driver
- Reliability and good communication
- Right to to work in the UK
While there are lots of work opportunities within (Company Name - Subscribers only), the terms detailed in this job advert are specific ONLY to this package of care. Permanent and bank contracts available. You can work full or part time.
