Are you a skilled leader who aspires for a rewarding role supporting our Childrens Business Unit?

Then our Business Manager role could be for you. We are looking for 12-month fixed term maternity leave cover, starting around September 2025. As a provider of a diverse range of (Company Name - Subscribers only) community services, LCH is a key player in the Leeds health and care system and West Yorkshire Integrated Care System. Within LCH the Childrens Business Unit provides a portfolio of specialist childrens services which includes CYPMHS, ICAN, Childrens Community Nursing, SLT, 0-19 including School Imms and Infant Mental Health. LCH has an evolving role working with partners in primary and secondary care, social care and the third sector to develop our service offer in response to national guidance and the changing commissioner landscape.

The Business Manager role is part of our Business, Change and Improvement Service (BCIS), which is a network of skilled and experienced project managers and change agents. Uniquely the role is also part of the Childrens Business Unit senior leadership team and will work in a matrix way, to ensure business expertise is used to support the services to be as effective and efficient as possible. The role works closely with LCHs Head of Business, who provides line management support, CBU General Manager and the Adult and Specialist Business Managers.

Main duties of the job

The Business Manager role is an important and diverse one, no two days are the same! This role would suit an individual from a range of professional backgrounds including performance, contracting, project management, business development, service development, quality improvement, partnership working and/ or operational management. The diversity of the role could be extremely rewarding for the right individual and there may be opportunities to develop specialisms within the role as well as career progression within the health and care system.

Typical responsibilities include overseeing service changes and developments through an annual business plan; leading performance processes; managing contracts; being a key contact with stakeholders (such as commissioners); and providing leadership, management and professional support to staff from the BCIS.
