Electric Bicycle Technicians are responsible for a variety of technical support tasks related to the maintenance, repair, and installation of electric bicycle systems and components.
**Key Responsibilities:**
Plan and prepare work and test schedules based on e-bike specifications, electrical schematics, and manufacturer guidelines.
Set up and test equipment, including batteries, motors, controllers, and wiring. This includes taking readings, performing calculations, and recording and interpreting diagnostic data.
Plan and execute installation methods, check completed installations for safety, and conduct the initial setup and testing of new electric bicycle systems and components.
Diagnose and identify faults in electrical components or systems, perform necessary repairs or adjustments, and implement procedures to maintain efficient operation and performance.
Provide clients with advice and guidance on the proper use, care, and maintenance of e-bike electrical systems, including battery management and system troubleshooting.
Assemble new bikes, identifying faults, damage, and wear.
Carry out minor repairs, and repair or replace damaged or worn-out components.
True wheels (straighten bike wheels to ensure proper alignment) and fit accessories (such as lights, pannier racks, or cycle computers).
Estimate costs (labor and parts), provide customer quotes, and schedule work.
Address customer queries and offer product advice or general cycling advice to suppliers and dealers.
