As the Assistant Vice President of the Portfolio Management Office, you will lead the assurance of the Portfolio of Programmes and Projects, working closely with senior stakeholders to ensure successful delivery. You will oversee a collection of delivery programmes and projects, prioritising and effectively allocating resources to meet departmental and business area objectives.
You will maintain the standards for portfolio delivery across the organisation by implementing and sharing best practices, developing and applying project procedures, and governing change activities to comply with group standards. You will champion the implementation of the portfolio across the organisation, providing overall direction.
You will collaborate with other teams to ensure that technical and business roadmaps are reflected in the portfolio. You will lead the evolution of scaled agile change methods within HR, fostering a culture of agility and continuous improvement. Additionally, you will provide expert guidance, support, and insight on the portfolio, programmes, and projects, acting as the source of all project information and metrics. You will drive insight and action across the portfolio, ensuring it delivers value by using data and MI to add insight, coherence, and value.
To be successful as a Assistant Vice President Portfolio Change, you should have experience with
- Â Experience in change portfolios, with a proven experience of successful change implementation in a corporate organisation.
- Agile change delivery, with the ability to lead and adapt Agile methodologies to suit HRâ??s needs.
- Understanding of change cycle governance, ensuring that all change activities are conducted in line with organisational standards and best practices.
- Stakeholder management and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

Purpose of the role
To support the portfolio management team in the delivery of successful projects, while ensuring that portfolio management processes and practices are aligned with controls and governance standards and that projects are aligned with the organisation’s strategic objectives.Â
Accountabilities
- Support to portfolio management, including facilitating portfolio prioritisation, ensuring their portfolio is compliant with the (Company Name - Subscribers only) Control Framework, including oversight of controls and standards.
- Monitoring of portfolio performance, including tracking of project progress, identification of thematic portfolio risks and issues, and reporting on portfolio status to senior management.
- Collation and maintenance of portfolio documentation, including aggregation of book of work, schedules, and budgets, ensuring that portfolio documentation is up-to-date and accurate.
- Evaluation of the potential impact, feasibility, and resource requirements of different change proposals, and provision of recommendations of which ones to pursue based on alignment with strategic goals and organisational priorities.
- Provision of portfolio management training to portfolio leads and other stakeholders, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver successful projects.
- Support in change management activities, including training and communication, to ensure that change initiatives are successfully implemented and embedded in the organisation.
- Contribution to continuous improvement of portfolio management practices, including identification of areas for improvement and implementation of changes to improve portfolio performance.
- Collaboration with stakeholders, including senior management, project teams, and external partners, to ensure that portfolio management practices are aligned with their needs and expectations.
Assistant Vice President Expectations
- Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
- Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
- Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
- Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
- Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
- Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.
- Communicate complex information. ‘Complex’ information could include sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.
- Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
